Mr. Rogers continues to inspire us and the helpers in our community. His T.V. show, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, captured the hearts of kids and adults all over the world. But it wasn’t just an entertaining show, built on fostering connection and childhood development, Mister Rogers Neighborhood pioneered educational television giving children a safe place to be belong and learn.

Back in November 2019, ICT S.O.S. held a special private screening of A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood celebrating some of the helpers in Wichita. We interviewed helpers during the event to find out what they loved about Mr. Rogers and why they decided to become a helper. Liz Upton, MSW and Jennifer White discuss the life of Mr. Rogers and his pioneering work.

• May 4, Wesley Medical Center will be relaxing visitation limits to allow one visitor per patient in all non-critical areas – this excludes patients in isolation and the Covid-19 unit. Should a survivor receive services from the sexual assault response team, they would be able to bring one support person with them.
